Town Marina

Overview

The Winthrop Town Marina is located at the Winthrop Public Landing. The marina offers boat slip rentals and dinghy/ tender tie-up space for those with boats on moorings. Marina membership is open to the public based on availability. A waiting list is established when full and new members will be admitted from the list first. To check availability, add your name to the waiting list, or rent space for your dinghy/ tender contact the Harbormaster Office at 617-207-9092.

Boat Slip Membership: Members have access to electricity, fresh water, bathrooms (when the building is open), waste pump-out on site, locked gated access for security, great location minutes from Boston Harbor and the islands.

Dinghy/ Tender Membership: Dinghy/ Tender members have rights to tie up on the designated dinghy dock, load and unload passengers from their boat in the marina, waste pump-out on site, and use of freshwater hose. Dinghy or inflatable must be less than 12 feet. Dinghy/ Tenders with engines of any kind must be registered and numbered.

Current Marina Fees (As of July 1, 2023)

All Dinghies must be out of the water in the winter season by November 1st.

Excursions / Charters / Shuttle Pick-Ups & Drop-Offs by Non-Members

Non-Member Excursions, Charters, and Shuttles wishing to pick up or drop off at the Winthrop Town Landing, marina, or ferry dock must obtain prior approval by contacting the harbormaster office via VHF ch. 06 or calling 617-207-9092. There is a fee of $2.50 per foot for such pick-ups and drop-offs.

Transient / Visitor Slip & Mooring Rentals

The Town of Winthrop welcomes all who wish to visit the town by boat! The town offers transient slip and mooring rentals by the hour, day, week, or month on a first come first serve basis. Transient slips and moorings are located at the Town Marina at the Public Landing, a short walk from many restaurants, the Winthrop Yacht Club, Yirell Beach, hotels, and the Deer Island National Park. Reservations may be made by contacting the Harbormaster office at 617-207-9092 or by VHF ch. 06 by boat.
