Solid Waste & Recycling Fee Schedule

The Town operates on a Fiscal Year Calendar from July 1st through June 30th. The Town has set the rate of $190 per set of bins for collection (one trash and one recycling bin) per unit, per dwelling.

This fee is billed semiannually in the first and second halves of the fiscal year. This bill is for weekly curbside collection of solid waste and recycling. Service is available to 1 to 3-unit dwellings only. The bins are the property of the Town of Winthrop. Upon sale of the residence or moving out, the bins are to remain at the assigned address.

We request that all residents label the bins assigned to their homes with the address and unit number for each bin.

Request for one additional 64-gallon bin for $280 annually (in addition to the base fee of $190 per set of trash and recycling bins /unit annually) for one added 64-gallon solid waste bin per dwelling. All Solid Waste and Recycling accounts must be current, and the $280 fee must be paid in full before the delivery of the additional bin will occur. Payment for the additional bin will not be payable online. Residents must apply for the additional bin via the DPW.  After approval and payment for the additional bin are received, delivery will be scheduled. Payment for additional bins will be billed annually in July. If the additional bin annual payment is not received for the additional bin(s), the DPW will remove the additional bin(s) from the address.

Request to return the 64-gallon bin and replace it with a 34-gallon bin. The cost for one 34-gallon solid waste bin billed annually for weekly curbside collection of solid waste is $130.00. The residents' current bill must be paid in full. Residents must apply for an abatement via an application to the DPW and receive approval before delivery. All Solid Waste Fees must be current for your application to be considered.

Bulk Item Sticker Program Available for Purchase Online Only

• $10 for each Orange (Household Items) Bulk Items Sticker
  Limit 2 items collected per household per week
• The following items are collected on the 3rd Tuesday of the month only: $25 for each Yellow Sticker(Appliances) $30 for each Pink Sticker (Electronics), and $35 for each Blue Sticker (Freon Items)
  Limit 2 items per household collected per monthly collection
