Trash & Recycling Collection When It Snows

What to do With Your Trash When it Snows

After a snowstorm, services are returned to normal as soon as it is possible to do so safely. Sometimes, depending on the severity of a storm, it may be necessary to delay trash pickup. If this happens, a notification will be placed on the town website, social media, and WCAT. If you've signed up for alerts from the website, you will also be notified via email.

Crews have a tough time reaching trash and recycling bins behind snow banks. Please clear an area at the curb, or put containers next to or in front of snow banks. By making it easier to reach containers, workers can have quick and safe collections.

What to Do with Bins

Place bins next to snow banks instead of behind them. You can also shovel out a space for your bins.

What Not to Do

Please don't leave bins buried under the snow. Shovel them out.
